Description

Machine Description:
The frame and the bed are made up of high grade of cast iron in one piece which allows for maximum cutting
performance and vibration absorption. The thick casting walls and reinforcement ribs give the machine
unsurpassed rigidity and prevent any bending or twisting that may affect machining accuracy. All casting
parts had been fully annealed to guarantee long-term accuracy for this class of precision machines. All
structure has been done by CAD/CAE analysis.
X, Z and W axes adapt with harden guide way which offers low frictional coefficient (0.1) with fine scrape
surface and the best warranty for long-term high accuracy.
The Z axis carriage adopted with square section of 226 mm which is supported by four Turcite B ways. It's
traveling stoke is provided with 1250mm. The Z axis carriage adapted with built-in geared #50 spindle of
1600 rpm with 380Nm torque of 11/15kW motor. Its specification can be referred to the attached Appendix
B.
The cross-rail W axes adapt with step design harden way which offers high rigidity of crossrail up and down
movement and the best warranty for long-term high cutting remove rate and high accuracy of cutting
performance. The W axis can be clamped at any positions of the travel with 2 sets of hydraulic clamping
devise with 4500kg each on both side of W axis guide ways.
For saving energy saving, the hydraulic counterweight is discarded from cross-rail W axis, the servo motor
and the reducer directly drive the screw.
The milling spindle temperature is kept constant by use of an oil recirculating heat exchanger as standard
equipment that reduces heat generation. Harmonized temperature between spindle head and machine body
assures minimum spindle expansion at high-speed rotation in long time continuous use.
The support bearing of the turning table is equipped with huge cross roller bearing which provides low
friction and stable variation to keep the rotation smoothly and ensure that the table rigidity and load can be
lasting properly. We also use temperature-controlled cooling oil to lubricate this bearing.
The feed system of VTC series machines consists of AC servo motor, high accuracy C3 grade ball screw and
special support bearings and its bearing housing combined with the machine bed and carriage. Axial servo
motor abnormal overload protection function can protect the machine if there is any accidental bumping
due to wrong command or button-pushing.
The turning table consists of high torque servo motor (37/45kW as STD) and two steps transmission gear box
with maximum torque of 28,900Nm. It can be clamped with 4 sets hydraulic clamping cylinders.
An optional indexing function of 0.001゜increment is available which is driven by the servo motor itself. An
own developed and patent pended backlash eliminated mechanism is well setting up whenever table is in
index function. An positioning accuracy of 30” (means +/- 0.008゜ or +/- 0.073mm/1000mm diameter) is
warranted.
Flood type coolant system is standard equipment. The caterpillar type chip conveyor which is installed in
right of the working table and chip discharge backward is available as standard.
A 90 degree angular head is optional available for side machining which provides a Curvic coupling with 4
clamping hydraulic cylinders adopted with spindle carriage and transferred the spindle speed 1:1 to the
angular head. The tool on the angular head must be removed manually before putting into the head
magazine.
The ATC magazine is driven by servo motor and gear driven is combination of head storage and vertical tools
which is WELE own developed and patent pended. The standard ATC will be offering 2 pocket positions for
the additional heads (means one set of protection cover and one set of angular head availability) and 12 sets
of vertical tool pocket
